In the ten-minute Warm Up, the session started with used tyre from FP 3; 1.29.0, good lap time considering the used tyre, despite there being a small problem in downshifting that slowed down the work of number 29 on track.

In the Superpole Race, number 29 starts well, immediately following the leading trio, Bulega, Toprak and Alvaro Bautista; however, on the second lap he gets a penalty for Jump Start, and the consequent two Long Laps. A rather severe penalty, for a Jump Start that is almost invisible; while serving the penalties he loses about 3 and a half seconds, 5 positions, finding himself ninth. The Maniac does not lose motivation and determination, however, catching up with Van der Mark and Gardner and finishing eighth. In this race his pace was in line with the podium, so much so that he was closing the gap on number 19 to try an attack. Too bad about the penalty, but third row defended for the start of race 2.

In Race 2 Andrea finds a great start again, overtaking Lowes and Petrucci in the early stages; however, the pace is not the best and almost immediately the front of the yellow Ducati starts struggling, especially in the left turns. He leaves room to attacks from several riders, fights in the middle of the group and towards the middle of the race seems to be able to get the speed back with two laps on 29.5. Unfortunately, however, the feeling up front worsens again and Andrea is forced to defend himself; towards the end, due to many contacts, he loses other positions, finishing fourteenth. Certainly not the result he had hoped for, it was a rather disappointing final race, from which to understand the problem and solve it as soon as possible. Two points taken, however, it is positive that Andrea did not give up and managed to bring the bike to the end in the points zone.

Weekend with two faces, here in Cremona; a beautiful day on Saturday, with the fourth place close to the podium that clashes with the unlucky Sunday. It is true that this morning the pace was fast, but in the afternoon we suffered more than expected. Analyzing the data and getting prepared in Most, this is what today leaves us with. The Czech Republic round, last year, was a pleasant surprise with the podium on Saturday; WorldSBK is back in action on May 16-18!
Andrea Iannone (Rider): “Unfortunately today it didn’t go as we hoped; in SP Race I had a good pace and I was trying to close on Alvaro, maybe I could have reached him, but I was penalized for a millimetric Jump Start, thus having to lose a lot of time. In race 2, however, I struggled a lot with the front, in the left turns it always tended to close and we didn’t find a solution that could help us. I tried to defend myself, but I couldn’t keep my pace, thus also suffering the attacks. In the final I lost a bit of time in the battle and I tried to bring home the race in the points zone anyway. I’m sorry to end the Cremona weekend like this, but now we have to focus on the next Round in Most, where last year I got a podium”
