ROMAN WHAT A RACE! STIKES THE TOP 10!

80,379 spectators, a great audience here in Buriram, very hot races, motor temperatures above 115 degrees, a day of exhilarating sport for the public and the COMI guest that chose to be present at this event. The weekend of Go Eleven uphill part, Roman loses the Friday trying a new set up, the grid position is perhaps its worst ever, but it is sure that the new way indicated by the team is the right one. In race 1 collects data and carries a point at home, but in the second race builds a perfect race and takes a beautiful place 9. Gino, who was also in trouble during the practices, comes into Superpole 2 with a perfect lap, but in the race complicit an electrical problem in the warm up lap, is given a right through to arriving on the grid after the safety car and the race ends there. Kazuki does another great job, he left behind from the grid but goes immediately to the attack, already from the first corners does a very good race pace and overtakes opponents up to cut the finish line to 9th place and win the sprint with Mulhauser.

Roman Ramos 40 (WSBK race 1; 15th): “The weekend was very difficult until race 1. We made so much effort to make the fastest lap and also the pace was not good. In the race I started well and I was able to be faster compared to practice, but I made many mistakes and this brought me to the 15 position.”
Roman Ramos 40 (WSBK race 2; 9th):“I am very happy about race 2 because we made a very good step, I enjoyed riding the bike and I constantly recovered positions. Fores was very close, I did my best to be able to take him, with two laps more maybe was able to overtake him. I am very happy for the team’s work, amazing! We arrive at the home race with a ninth place and load for Aragon. Many thanks to all my team for the work of this weekend, we are ready for the next round.”

Gino Rea 4 (WSS race; rt):“This weekend has been tough. We did well to get through to Superpole 2 but unfortunately our problems began on Satuday and continued to Sunday. At the start of the warm up lap for the race, my bike stopped completely. I was able to restart it but I was a long way behind the safety car. I caught it up as it was entering the pitane at the end of the lap and I continued to my normal starting position, at the same time as the other riders. There was no instruction from any of the officials to start at the back of the grid or to enter pitlane. Then in the race I would have been in the top 8, even with some bike difficulties, but the officials gave me a ride through penalty. The first time I saw this penalty board, I entered the pits but I was already black flagged, so my race ended there. It is frustrating as we needed to score points here to start our season. We will work hard to improve and stay positive for Aragon.”

Kazuki Watanabe (WSS race : 9th): “From Friday morning I had a good pace, we worked a lot for the race and the biggest obstacle that we have right now is the power of the engine at low rpm, in high rpm the power not lacking, but we lack a bit of acceleration. Unfortunately I still can not make the fastest lap in qualifying, and I have to work on this, if we can start on the ahead of the grid we can stay with the front group. The race went well, I made another good recovery and was able to conquer the top 10 at the end, I’m happy with this result. Thanks to the whole team.”

Denis Sacchetti (Team Manager):“Thailand for Go Eleven has never been an easy race, but this year we took the satisfaction of entering the top ten in the sbk, and for us this is very important. We have improved the total race time, the bike is growing well and we are confident for the season. Roman was very good, today I am proud of him.Gino did not had the starting season that we all expected, we know that we can fight in front, with the head positions, but for different reasons, and for unlucky we have not collected anything, his championship will start from Aragon.Watanabe has made another great race, refit 10 positions in a championship so hard, he is to praise. Think about if he could be fast also in Superpole! If he start from the front positions, he can make us really fun.”
