JEREZ – GO ELEVEN GETTING CLOSER TO THE SUMMIT

In the Spanish weekend, Roman caught the attention of the spotlights, the best Spanish rider in qualifying, getting directly to Q2 after a Friday that saw him in the lead for over 20 minutes. The practices and the qualifying this time have gone very well and his times were very close to the pole position. In race 1 Roman suffers the loss of grip of the front tire, probably an error in the choice of the compound did not allow him to fight for the sixth final position, but gets a deserved top ten, with just 18 seconds of gap from the winner, the neo-champion of the world, Rea.Race 2, good start but a red flag stops the race on the first lap.We re-start with a lap less, and we live a beautiful fight with Guintoli, Mercado and Torres, it seems that Roman can get the best on this group but after a few laps makes a small mistake in the exchange of overtaking with Guintoli and loses a bit ground, on the final then surpasses Camier on the last lap, ending 11th.Kazuki in this weekend has never been able to find the right feeling with the bike and with this track, all riders were very closed in a small gap and this creates a very high level of the championship, especially for a newcomer.Gino Rea does not enter in Q2 for 1-thousandth of a second, but his race pitch is very good and even though the qualifications did not go as expected, he start from the 16th position on the grid knowing to could do a good race, and so it was, catching up until the ninth position. The final is fantastic where with two wonderful overtakings precedes Gamarino and Canducci. An enthrilling race weekend that have seen the partecipation of various COMI guests roaming around the hospitality of the Go Eleven team.
Roman Ramos 40 (WorldSBK race 1; 10th): “After a weekend like this I was expecting a different race, but I did a lot of struggle with the front tire, it seems like a different rubber than to the practices and it slipped a lot. In the end a top ten for us is always important and the positive thing is that we have been fast on practices, this highlights our growth.”

Roman Ramos 40 (WorldSBK race 2; 11th): “Today I had the chance to get a very important result, but I was at the limit with everything, I made my best trying to drive beyond the limit but unfortunately I made two little mistakes. We still miss something to be ahead but the team is working great and we are getting closer and this gives us motivation and satisfaction.”

Gino Rea 4 (WorldSS race; 9th): “Finally a weekend where everything went well, no unexpected events! On Friday I had no feelings with the bike but then we have worked hard and we did constantly improve, so that in the race I felt good. It has been a sin to make that mistake in the qualifying, if we would have start more forward it would have been another race. But today I’m happy and I had fun fighting.”

Kazuki Watanabe 26 (WorldSS race; 22th): “We already had done tests during the winter here and I was convinced that I could do very well, but it has been the worst race of the year for me. We have tried many different set-up on the bike, but my feeling was still awkward. I feel sorry but I want to forget this weekend with a good final race in Qatar, I can not wait to redeem myself.”

Denis Sacchetti (Team Manager): “We are getting closer to the summit, we are coming! We return home proud of ourselves, the work done on our Superbike is giving us results, and Roman was magical this weekend. In Supersport the replacement of a member of the technical staff gave us the answers that we were looking for, now everything is back to normal and it’s a pity to be already at the end of the season.”
